The Learner Profile in Action in PE
The IB often stresses the importance of developing "Internationally Minded" students in order to help create a better and more peacefulworld. The PYP Learner profile/PYP Attitudes are an excellent way to address this vision and PE presents ample opportunities to help develop these skills and traits within our students.

Recognizing students who genuinely demonstrate Learner Profile attributes or PYP attitudes is a wonderful way to give them positive feedback. The way I have it set up is that whenever a student is deserving of being recognized, I will get a photo of them in action and write up a short explanation that sums up why they have received this recognition. I then post it on my PE display board in the PYP hallway of the school. I will sometimes highlight a particular attribute that is being focused on during a unit and recognize several students at once. See picture below to get an idea of how I do this.

I have recognized hundreds of students over the years doing it this way and I can say with full certainty that it always brings a smile to their face and makes them feel proud of what they have accomplished. It serves as a source of feedback to their classroom teachers, their peers, and their parents. I have included a number of specific examples below. Enjoy!
